Edge – Take 2 on the photo challenge.
Location: Posch’n Hütte, Hintersee – Austria

This photograph links to this weeks theme ‘Edge’ in more than one way. Firstly, the figure is located to the edge of this image, allowing the natural green colours of the surrounding courtryside take centre stage. The person can be seen to be about to walk out of this frame and into unknown land; as a viewer we remain oblivious to what lies beyond the limits of this scafold provided by the photo. Furthermore, in the forever more ‘connected’ world we live in, this image captures humanity on the edge of its could we say ‘comfort zone’, moving into the unknown land that surrounds it.
Finally, the titled quote is by D.H. Lawrence and I thought it tied in nicely with this theme, about going beyond our known boundaries, exploring things farther and thereby pushing back the borders and driving the edges away.
